Origin
Bioglo Rose Hip Oil is derived from a rose belonging to the Rosacea family and Rosoidea sub-family that grows in the southern Andes of South America. It is botanically classified as Rosa aff. rubiginosa, but natives call it Rosa Mosqueta. This species is valued for its rich concentration of active elements.

When the pink petals of the rose drop away, they are replaced by a fruit. This fruit is high in vitamin C. Seeds from this "rose hip" fruit contain polyunsaturated oils with special properties for skin renewal.

Cultivation

LABORATORIOS COESAM of Chile cultivates Rosa Mosqueta on a private plantation, using organic methods that preserve the natural ecosystem of Chile's southern zone. Reproduction is carried out in greenhouses under strict quality control. Only the finest breeds are used to produce premium quality Bioglo Rose Hip Oil.

Research Highlights
Since 1976, extensive scientific research has proven the remarkable skin healing properties of Rose Hip Oil, and established that the oil's restorative powers come from its unique reservoir of Essential Fatty Acids (oleic, linoleic, linolenic), Carotenoids, Flavonoids, Vitamin C and a Vitamin A derivative.

Laboratorios Coesam, which pioneered the research on the oil, has since amassed a wealth of data and clinical studies in collaboration with universities and hospital research centers. The following are excerpts.

On assisting medical treatments:

"I have applied Rose Hip Oil on all types of skin. Rose Hip Oil acts on scars, reducing hyperpigmentation, flattening hypertrophia (bulky scars) and loosening up fibrous chords. All these effects end up in a near complete attenuation of scars."

Dr Hans Harbst, Head of Radiology Department, Chilean Air Force Hospital, Santiago

On treating aging skin:

"These tests were carried out on 20 women aged between 25 and 35... The most frequently noted cutaneous signs were surface wrinkles, brown spots, sagging eyelids and, in some cases, only an intense tan. All applied Rose Hip Oil on the face for four months.

Observations were made every eight days. Significant changes were noted starting from the third week. Firstly, surface wrinkles started to disappear, spots started to fade until, at the end of the fourth month, the disappearance was complete. Skin presented a smooth and fresh aspect and the spots had almost disappeared."

Dr Bertha Pareja, Principal Professor, Faculty of Pharmacology and Biochemistry, University of San Marcos, Peru, and Dr Horst Kehl, School of Pharmacology, University of Missouri, USA

Lightens pigmentation
It increases the skin's capacity to produce new cells. As new cells replace old ones, pigmentation spots gradually fade. Rose Hip Oil can also accelerate the fading of "pregnancy mask" (pigmentation occurring mostly on the cheeks during pregnancy). See Before and After pictures

Re-hydrates dry skin
By the time we reach age 50, our skin produces 10 times less oil than when we were 25. Lack of oil and depleted moisture lead to dehydration and wrinkling of the skin. Rose Hip Oil restores the optimal balance of fatty acids and water which re-hydrates the skin.

It restores shine, natural softness and significantly improves the appearance and texture of hair damaged by chemical processing, coloring, blow drying, extended sun exposure and other harsh environmental agents.

Wan Koon has this to report:
"There was not much hope for my thick, dry and unmanageable hair - I've used countless treatment serums to no effect. However, within a month of using Bioglo Rose Hip Oil, my hair texture has improved significantly … it is now so much softer and easier to manage."
